Children's literature is back with none other than L.S. Matthews!


That's right, your manuscript can be read and assessed by the famous children's author, L.S. Matthews. You can receive guidance and even be recommended to an agent by our new team member.

More about L.S. Matthews: L.S. Matthews is a graduate (BA Hons. first class, English, Goldsmiths' College, University of London) and she worked in publishing after graduating.

All her books are published in the UK by Hodder Children's Books, now a division of Hachette.

Two SEN teen readers, Deadly Night, and, The Game, also published by Hodder Arnold.

US/Canadian versions of all the books (apart from the latest one, After the Flood) published by Random House, who won a bidding war for the rights of Fish, the first book, creating a new record for Hodder Children's for an advance.

Her first novel, Fish (2003), won the Fidler Award and was also Highly Commended for the Branford Boase Award and nominated for a Carnegie Medal in the US. Her other novels are The Outcasts (2004), A Dog For Life (2006), Lexi (2007) all of which have won their own awards in the UK and abroad - all have been published in many different countries including the US, and Fish and A Dog For Life have also been bought by other publishing companies all over the world, and translated into many different languages. Her latest title, After the Flood, is currently shortlisted for three UK awards this year.
