Manuscript Assessment

Submit a synopsis and at least three chapters of your work (preferably the whole manuscript) and we will read it carefully and write a detailed assessment report about it. Please enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope if you want us to send the manuscript back. However, we highly recommend you keep a copy of your work for yourself, as we cannot be held responsible for things lost or damaged in the post.

You will receive our detailed report in no longer than 3-5 weeks. The report will contain an overview of the whole work, structure, story, plot, characters, locations, as well as a technical approach to writing, narrative voice, pace, tone, point of view, consistency of style throughout the book, relevance of the title/titles and we also offer suggestions on the marketability of the project and the next steps to be taken, including suitable agents and publishers. If we think your book is ready to be submitted to an agent or publisher, we will submit it on your behalf within a well presented recommendation pack, at no extra charge.

Manuscript Re-assessment

If you decide to consider any of our suggestions presented in our assessment report, we would be glad to re-read it for less the initial fee and provide you with a second (and, most of the time, final) report. The best thing that could happen at this stage is that authors who were stuck for months or years in their work now come back to us for a second read with their finished manuscript and thank us for the inspirational help. 100% of our clients feel that our assessment service has helped them to radically improve their writing and their chances of getting published. Market Assessment for International Writers

We provide this service to non-UK authors who have already published their books in English outside the UK and are willing to promote, distribute or publish their books in the UK. Please submit your published book together with a synopsis and any reviews or any relevant information that might contribute to assessing the market score of the project in the UK. Our reports will contain solely notes on the marketability of your book in the UK. If we consider it worth a proper look from an agent, we will offer you our free agent submission service.

Recommendation to Agents and Publishers

It is a tough job to find an agent to represent your work. It's a lot harder than most first-time writers would expect. This is because taking on a new name is costly and risky and because a lot of people write for a living these days, so they write a lot. But that's what we're here for. We're here to help you convince a good agent your book is worth representing in front of a good publisher, so your books get published and sold. It does make a difference for an agent to receive your manuscript together with a professional recommendation from literary consultants.

It's very difficult to find an agent straight away and it's even more difficult to find one on your own.

If we believe your book is ready for submission to an agent, we will make sure that you find out in real time about our decision to recommend you to an agent. We are an independent literary consultancy, so we won't privilege any agents or publishers. Our choice will be based exclusively on the profile and quality of your work. We may choose an internationally acclaimed agency or a smaller one. We may choose a huge publisher or we may choose a small niche company. One thing is for sure, we will never charge you for this service.
